Follow-up order in the field of skid conveyor technology

Currently, a well-known customer in Northern Germany is going full steam ahead. As a follow-up to a large-volume plant, BMF received another order for skid conveyor technology. Both projects are scheduled for completion in the summer of 2021, so the orders will be processed in parallel. Good cooperation with the customer's team is an important factor here.

High-quality and reliable skid conveyor technology for the automotive industry is one of BMF's core competencies. At the customer, a production changeover with a view to electromobility leads to a corresponding demand that has to be processed with new equipment at short notice.

The second current order has the following technical data: 100 roller conveyors, 25 cross-link belt conveyors, around 40 lifting, swiveling and rotating tables and more than 850 skids. In total, this involves a volume of 450 t of steelwork and 4,000 square meters of protective underpinning.

Complete realization of new conveyor belts for aluminum and steel

A renowned customer is preparing for the extensive expansion of electromobility with a wide range of measures. In this context, the conversion of the production is of great importance. As a long-standing partner, BMF takes over the renewal of another press line, which has great importance for the production flow.

In two construction phases, BMF is already realizing the dismantling and new installation of three slat-band conveyors for the disposal of several press lines in the press shop of the automobile manufacturer. The second part of this project, which started in the first half of 2020, is scheduled for completion during the 2021 plant vacation.

The schedule for this new order, which will start during the 2021 plant vacation, is much more sporting. It involves two belts with a total length of around 400 meters. The chain pitch is 250 mm in each case, and the belt width varies between 1,000 mm (aluminum) and 1,500 mm (steel). The order includes the complete electrical system and the installation of a head control system in the press shop control station, including visualization and expansion of the video technology.

For the current order, BMF can contribute its full know-how in the field of scrap removal with its well-known efficient project management. Smooth removal of the stamping scrap in the press shops ensures a fast production process without interruptions. This involves the optimum disposal and recycling of loose scrap and scrap packages. Thanks to the special know-how, high throughput and piece numbers can be achieved, which brings significant advantages for customers.

Intensive cooperation in toolmaking and project management

BMF's Plastics Processing division maintains successful cooperation with qualified partners in Asia in the moldmaking and project management segments. Among other things, the focus is on optimized exchange.

The advantages of this cooperation for BMF customers are very convincing. Fast response times, high demands on quality and responsibility, and a pronounced cost awareness characterize the interaction with the optimally equipped tool shop at the company headquarters in Büren. All specifications and tool specifications are from BMF. All process steps - from design to realization to logistics - are carried out in close coordination. Extensive measurement reports and documentation round off the successful cooperation.
